Word For The Day (188)
"A bribe is a charm to the one who gives it; wherever he turns, he succeeds. By justice a king gives a country stability, but one who is greedy for bribes tears it down. See how the faithful city has become a harlot! She once was full of justice; righteousness used to dwell in her- but now murderers! Your silver has become dross, your choice wine is diluted with water. Your rulers are rebels, companions of thieves; they love bribes and chase after gifts. They do not defend the cause of the fatherless; the widow's case does not come before them. Like a muddied spring or a polluted well is a righteous man who gives way to the wicked." Proverbs 17:8, 29:4, Isaiah 1:21-23, Proverbs 25:26 NIV
